It’s Time to Soar Again
If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored Job 22 v 23 NIV
As you embark on this journey of seeking the Lord in prayer and fasting, there is an invitation for you to reposition and refocus your heart wholeheartedly once again towards the Lord that will bring you refreshing and complete restoration.
Come and set your heart on a pilgrimage of rediscovery and make a decision to return to the Lord that will allow Him to change the way you think about yourself, your future destiny and your community.
Maybe you have just been through a tough time when all your dreams have been crushed, relationships have been strained, you have felt isolated and alone, anxious for the future. Perhaps you have faced job loss or sickness, or maybe there is just something you have found difficult to shake off and master in the last season. Maybe you have been distracted with the busyness of life, work and the juggling of lots of responsibilities. Whatever the issue it has certainly been a period of change like no other for all of us and we all need our own personal breakthrough.
Here in this word, the Lord directs you to return to Him once more, and as you do so, know that its not by putting your hope in your circumstances, abilities, performance or even striving to get closer to God through ‘religious’ practices that brings restoration and healing. Its through the simple act of repentance, turning towards Him and opening up your heart to his loving, healing touch that will enable you to shake off the staleness of the old season and encounter God and His goodness once more. That times of refreshing and renewal will rain down on you as you bathe in the fullness of His glorious presence.
Isaiah puts it like this:
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isiaih 40 v 30-31
Let these devotions be 40 days of ‘medicine’ designed to set you on a new trajectory soaring joyfully into your future. As you devote yourself to God anew, allow Him to wash, purify and cleanse you, bringing refreshing, new hope and joy with the ability to lift your head once more. Give Him space to speak and as the word of God renews your mind let it bring your spoken words into alignment with the truth of heaven’s reality for your life and everyone around you.
Father: I choose today to return to You with all my heart, soul and mind and strength. I give to you every burden and weariness that I’ve been carrying from the last season. I repent and turn my back on all that has taken me away from you and allowed my relationship with You to become lukewarm. I come to you now, and open my heart once more to you. I receive a fresh infilling of your Holy Spirit, to cleanse, heal, refresh and give me a renewed joy and passion for all that you have in store for me. Amen
