our story
REscuing an abandoned GENERATION.
Papa’s House rescues abandoned and orphaned children from the streets of Nepal and into a loving home. With each rescue we are saving a young life from severe poverty and the clutches of a fast-growing child trafficking industry.
Children are welcomed into our loving home where they experience a sustainable family environment, full of love, grace, mercy, restoration and empowerment, expressed to them through Papa’s House Parents. They also thrive in the safety and security that comes with shelter, food and parental supervision. Children no longer have to fight to survive but get the opportunity to flourish in life. Our first Papa's House opened in 2016 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Our dream is to open further sites across the world in years to come.
Joshua’s Story
Children are orphaned for a variety of reasons. In most cases in Nepal however, it is largely a result of families in isolated villages not having adequate healthcare and or poor health and safety resulting in death. Children who lose their parents in such circumstances, are often left to fend for themselves. They live on the streets, in the jungle or by rivers where they forage for food.
This was true in Joshua’s case.
Joshua was found with his older brother Caleb by a local pastor who contacted Papa’s House. Both boys were starving, dirty and in a very bad way. Joshua was suffering particularly badly, because the mud that he had been eating to quench his hunger was carrying dangerous parasites. The parasites were taking over his body and his digestive system was compromised. Had Joshua not been found by the local pastor, he would have passed away within a matter of weeks. Today, Joshua is a thriving young boy and so full of life. He loves to jump around, cartwheel, play games and watch movies. His friends call him the Nepali Spiderman. Joshua’s story is just one of many. Fortunately, this one has a happy outcome but it is not often the case.
“When children no longer have to fight to survive, they can start to dream big, thrive and live their best lives.”
