The Story's Not Over

A quote I heard at the beginning of this year by Stephen Backhouse was “The story’s not over. You think the story’s done. You think you’ve lost or you think you’ve won, but you need to know it’s not over there’s more!” This spoke deeply to me. There’s hope, it’s not over, there’s still more to come!

In Luke 24v49 it says “And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

We can see that there is a process and a waiting that is happening while they stay in the city, but that's not the end destination for them. They are just staying there UNTIL they have been clothed with power from on high. Then they can go, but clothed in power from God. When God is asking us to do something there is always purpose and always a promise that he is with us in it.

I imagine the staying in the city wasn’t laying around on their backs waiting and hoping for the day the power came. Instead I imagine it was a time of positioning and readying themselves so that they were in a place to receive and receive in fullness, stewarding well the moment they were in . Let’s keep going in the waiting UNTIL we see the shift in our lives, the growth and the alignment. In that place of waiting it can sometimes feel never ending, maybe doubt creeps in is this really going to happen? Remember the story’s not over, there’s more!

...

During The Shift let’s look at ourselves. Are there areas that you want to grow? Areas you need to speak hope back into? Areas that you need to realign in? There is still so much more to come for our lives let’s position ourselves to go after all God has instore for us until we see it happen!
