Enter His Rest

So the fast begins!! Who's ready for a transformational shift ?

I believe our greatest weapon of war against the enemy right now is to come into rest and arise in all God created us to be.

Personally, corporately and regionally. We are not sweating our way into victory, or striving to be heard. Instead, we boldly enter in to discover who God is and therefore who we are. I love this quote from Ivan Roman that exhorts “The ability to rest is the evidence of sonship.” A profound place to enter where the revelation of being a son and a daughter causes us to have the ability to rest because of alignment in identity. Who we think we are or strive to be begins to shift into who he says we are.

The journey of rest and identity is a necessary and fruitful one. This journey confronts our man made systems and religious mindsets, that cause us to walk in our own strength. The more we lean on him, the more we see him, we become like him and it is here transformation takes place. The inferior portion that we believed was ours, begins to melt, as we enter the inheritance made available to us. We begin to draw closer to our maker and sustainer. The loudness of the demands of life become low in the presence of God. Striving begins to cease and we position ourselves, remember again who we are and just how beautiful and glorious the king is.

Unless we engage with the rest of God then we will not fully be able to engage in the authority we have been given. And all we will sow into the place and people around us is restlessness and striving instead of rest, hope and joy. This world more than ever needs people of rest, hope and joy!

There is a powerful invitation in Hebrews 4:1 and Hebrews 4:9-13(TPT version)

“Now God has offered to us the same promise of entering into his realm of resting in confident faith. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it.”

(4:9-13) “So we conclude that there is still a full and complete “rest”waiting for believers to experience.  As we enter into God’s faith-rest life we cease from our own works, just as God celebrates his finished works and rests in them.11 So then we must give our all and be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief. For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, and it pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts. There is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God, for nothing that we do remains a secret, and nothing created is concealed, but everything is exposed and defenseless before his eyes, to whom we must render an account”

WOW a faith filled rest that brings us into a revelation of the power in the word of God! This is what is available to us and what empowers us! I wonder how much more of God we would reflect if we lived in rest? As I am on this journey of entering into rest I have found so much freedom in my life, my identity, my schedule, my relationships etc. Coming out of striving and into rest and beloved identity. I pray you would find freedom as you dive into this scripture and participate in this fast. Brene Brown challenges people to engage in wholehearted living by “Cultivating play and rest and letting go of exhaustion as a status symbol and productivity as self worth”

Here are a few questions to ponder as you read through today's scripture

Is there any part of my identity that is leaning on anything but you God? If so ask further for a fresh revelation of your identity in Christ

How can you cultivate rest in your life? Emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Ask the lord what does this hebrews 4 promised rest look like for you?

Write down what the lord reveals to you as you read today's passage.
